Get started

Here's how JobNet works.

All you need to do is to click on the "Search & Apply" page. You can search for vacancies in a variety of ways, for example, by location and/or business. If there is nothing appropriate to your career at this point in time, you can set up an email alert for a preferred position.

The vast majority of management jobs will be advertised.

Job adverts are posted by individual businesses and the method for application will always be clearly stated on the advert. There is a CV builder on JobNet for you to use to apply for a position if you wish. To use this you will need to create your own JobNet account with a unique username and password to ensure that your personal details remain confidential.

If you choose to make an application for a job, you will receive an acknowledgement from the business which advertised the vacancy. Wherever possible communication will be by email. You may nominate an alternative email address if you prefer not to use your work account.

A list of Frequently Asked Questions is detailed below. If you need any further help, then please contact us. Overcome obstacles

Can I apply for any job?
Yes, you can. However, to improve your likelihood of success you need to think about whether you have the skills and/or experience to make you an appropriate candidate for the role. The advert should give you a clear indication of what the job involves and the sort of experience and qualifications you will need.

Can I apply for more than one job at any one time?
There is no limit on the number of jobs you can apply for provided you are suitably qualified.

TOP

How confidential is my application?
Your application will be totally confidential between you and the receiving business until such time as an interview is offered to you.

TOP

Is the application process for IMI employees any different?
No. The process is the same but we'd suggest that you do talk to your line manager about your application since he/she is best placed to offer you candid feedback about your skills which may help you to tailor your application.

TOP

Can I apply for jobs in a different country?
Yes you can apply for any job however, there may be particular work permit requirements that you have to meet in order to work in that particular country. Your best course of action if you think you need a visa/work permit is to seek advice from the business advertising the vacancy.

I have applied for a job through JobNet but have heard nothing for weeks about what is happening. What should I do?
This shouldn't happen as the IMI businesses have been asked to keep candidates informed. If you have heard nothing then please e-mail the named person in the advert. If you have still heard nothing after a few days then please contact Tracey Mansell. imijobnet@imiplc.com
